About

Andreia Costa is a landscape and nature photographer. Born in Lisbon in 1990, she began her professional career in the field of information technology, working for several years in multinational companies. However, it was through photography that she discovered her true calling: exploring the world with a sensitive and attentive eye, in search of authentic beauty that still stands the test of time.

She currently devotes herself to traveling to remote destinations, traditional cultures, and untouched natural environments, with a special interest in wildlife. Her camera is the medium through which she seeks to tell visual stories.

Nature, in all its forms, is the common thread running through her work. She is fascinated by the contrasts of light, the force of the elements, the silence of the mountains, the power of volcanoes, and unexpected encounters with wild animals. Each photograph is designed to convey an atmosphere, an emotion, and the unique experience of being in that moment and place.

Her images seek to reveal the deep connections between humanity and Earth.
She explores the invisible layers that unite untouched landscapes, wildlife in freedom, communities in transformation, and traditions that stubbornly resist the passage of time.
Each photograph is an act of listening. A gesture of respect. An invitation to empathy and contemplation. She believes that photography is not just a visual practice—it is also an ethical practice. It carries the responsibility to preserve what is precious and to amplify what is silent.

Her commitment involves nature conservation, valuing cultural diversity, and raising awareness of realities that are often overlooked. Whether she is capturing the unexpected flight of a wild bird, the stillness of a remote landscape, or the steady gaze of someone in her territory, she always seeks to create images that inspire awareness, care, and connection.
For her, photography is a reminder that we are not separate from the Earth. We are part of it. And it is in this belonging that lies the urgency to look, feel, and act with reverence.

She is the author of the book Lisboa Entre os Tempos (Lisbon Between Times), a project that combines past and present in a single image, revealing the transformation of the city of Lisbon over time, in terms of landscape, urban planning, and architecture.

Her work has been published in several leading national media outlets, such as Público, A Mensagem, SAPO Viagens, and Revista Volta ao Mundo.
