ABOUT
The difference was never just the destination. It was always in the way you observe..
Most people believe that the best photographs depend on being in the right place. But over the years, I have realised that this is rarely true.
I have seen people surrounded by extraordinary landscapes unable to create a memorable image. And I have seen others find incredible photographs in seemingly ordinary places.
That discovery transformed the way I photograph and now guides everything I do.
I’m Andreia Costa, a landscape and nature photographer.
For several years, I worked in IT before deciding to dedicate myself fully to photography. Since then, I have travelled to some of the most remote places on the planet, following wildlife, exploring untouched landscapes and documenting communities with a deep connection to the land they inhabit.
Every journey has reinforced the same conviction: a memorable photograph begins long before the click.
It begins with observation. With patience. With the ability to understand light, anticipate behaviour and recognise moments that most people overlook.
It is this way of seeing that I seek to share through my photographs, expeditions, workshops and educational projects.
And when we truly learn to observe, photography also becomes a tool for protecting what we so often overlook.
It is this way of seeing that I seek to share through my photographs, expeditions, workshops and educational projects.
Along the way, I published the book Lisboa Entre os Tempos, a project that brings past and present together in a single image, and my work has been recognised and published by various national and international media outlets.
But what motivates me most remains exactly the same: helping more people discover that the best photographs do not begin in the camera.
